Herping Phu Quoc in the end of the dried season 2025
Phu Quoc 20th of March 2025 herping tour with Emmy and Linda
Our Phu Quoc herping adventure kicked off at 6:30 PM with two enthusiastic explorers from the Netherlands. While the elusive snakes remained hidden, the night revealed a vibrant tapestry of island wildlife. We encountered a chorus of frogs, intricate spider webs, agile lizards, and a variety of nocturnal birds. The highlight? Two adorable, wide-eyed slow lorises, a truly special sight!
Our journey spanned roughly 3 km on foot and 15 km by motorbike, allowing us to explore diverse habitats. We concluded our search at 12:30 AM, just in time for a satisfying bowl of local crab noodle soup. To add a touch of authentic Vietnamese experience, Emmy bravely tried trứng vịt lộn (developed duck eggs) for the first time. Though a challenge to finish, it was certainly a memorable culinary initiation. We returned our guests to their hotel at 1:30 AM, bidding them farewell after a night filled with discovery.
